It is a matter of great pride and honor that the opportunity to lead and serve the most prestigious and premier Institute of the state, The Rama Devi Women's University at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, has been bestowed upon me. It gives me immense pleasure to be the mentor of this colossal group of energetic women students, and to prepare them to take on the challenges of the society.

Education has been a great instrument for the growth, development and progress of any country. It is much more relevant in a country like India and more so for a developing state like Odisha. In order to capitalize on favorable demographics, and to fully realize the benefits, we need to provide the necessary knowledge, skills, support and opportunities to the heterogeneous group of women students-urban, rural, tribal, differently abled and underprivileged. We all are committed to "Empowering Women" as "An enlightened Woman is the source of infinite strength". The journey of this University started in May 2015, and we have to follow the legacy of Maa Rama Devi for the empowerment as well as enlightenment of the women of Odisha.

Rama Devi Women's University constitutes a sprawling campus of over 25.56 acres and is located besides the NH-16, in the heart of the capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar. It is a fast growing young Women's University of Odisha, with a state-of-the-art campus. We are committed to providing quality education to the youth with an emphasis on nurturing their impressionable minds so that they can think analytically and develop interdisciplinary collaborative skills with the support of experienced faculties and visiting eminent personalities. Our strategy is governed by four major goals, excellent teaching, students satisfaction, outstanding research and social responsibility. Thus, our academic curriculum is designed to ensure continued teaching, learning, research and innovation. Accordingly, we have started establishing collaborative partnerships with businesses, government, and other research institutions. Our endeavor and my personal commitment is to help our students in generating innovative ideas and the skills required to thrive in the society. This will ensure that they will become successful and employable graduates and post graduates and even entrepreneurs. They will also become responsible citizens holding high ethics and moral values.
