NCC is offered as a general elective for undergraduate students of Arts and Commerce streams respectively. NCC was introduced as an elective subject in academic year 2013-14 following UGC sanction of the course. Implementation of NCC as an elective subject was aimed at orienting students towards pursuing career in defence and encouraging their involvement in community service. NCC training creates a pool of organized and motivated students with leadership qualities and instils values of patriotism and citizenship in them. The NCC general elective paper carries 100 marks, with 75 marks theory and 25 marks practical component.
